Carpet Migration Aquila by Nodus

Migration Aquila is made in Portugal with the needle technique (also used in tapestries and to embroider clothes) depicting the flight of the eagle. Migration Aquila is part of a collection of three carpets designed by Studio Formafantasma inspired by the work of 19th century ornithologist Jan James Audubon, who scientifically catalogued birds. Instead of the traditional tiny geometric flowers typical of the small stitch technique (tapestries), the project takes the form of three large birds that seem to be held for a moment by the walnut buttons on the surface of the carpet as they take flight.
